Remember the Lil' Penny Dream/Party Commercial where they played Kurtis Blow's "Basketball" song? That was one of my favorites as a young baller as I begged Mom and Pops for the Penny Hardaway shoes. Peep the Commercial:
Now that your memory has been updated, I highly advise you to watch and listen Kurtis Blow's "Basketball" video. At one point, Kurtis crowned himself "The King of Rap" with Russell Simmons' backing. And he was probably there for a minute until NWA came to the scene in '86. For some reason, Universal won't allow embedding of "Basketball" so you'll have to enjoy the vid on the link below in Youtubes.
